Russia May Copper, Zinc, Nickel, Aluminum Output Higher On Year

MOSCOW, July 2 -- Russia's zinc output increased in May by 35.2% compared with May 2009 and by 1.1% compared with April, the state statistics committee said Thursday.

The committee doesn't provide production figures.

Refined copper output in May increased 14.1% on the year and 3.2% on the month. Lead output in May was 35.2% higher on the year and 1.1% compared with April. Nickel output increased 3.3% on the year and 5.9% from April.

Primary aluminum output in May increased 4.6% on the year and 3.3% compared with April.
