NEW YORK, June 29 -- Aluminum company Alcoa Inc (AA.N: Quote) said on Monday it will acquire privately held Traco, a maker of windows and doors for the commercial building and construction market.
Terms were not disclosed, but Alcoa said the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter.
Traco, based in Cranberry, Pennsylvania, where it employs 650 people, will become part of Alcoa's global Building and Construction Systems business.
Founded in 1943 as the Three Rivers Aluminum Co, Traco specializes in engineering, extrusion, finishing and electrostatic painting, glass insulation and tempering, and glass lamination for doors and windows.
The company was involved in the recent Statue of Liberty restoration, replacing the 25 windows in the crown of the landmark statue in New York harbor.
Alcoa's stock was down 21 cents at $11.03 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
