China's Installed Wind Power Capacity Ranks 3rd in The World

BEIJING, June 10 -- China's total installed wind power capacity ranks third in the world for 423 wind powers nationwide with annually output of 22.68 million kWh sources reported.

As of the end of 2009, there were 423 wind power plants all over the country, and the installed capacity is 22.68 million kWh, which accounts for 2.6% of the total installed capacity in the country.

The installed wind power capacity will reach 150 million kWh in 2020, according to the estimation of the State Grid.

China has generated 51.6 billion kWh wind power as of the end of 2009. It has saved 18.06 million tons of coal, and has reduced 55.62 million tons of carbon dioxide emission and reduced 280,000 tons of sulfur dioxide emission using the wind power generation.
