NEW DELHI, June 9 -- National Aluminium Co. (532234.BY) is seeking to form a joint venture with Indonesia's PT Aneka Tambang (ANTM.JK), or PT Antam, to build an alumina smelter and a power plant in the Southeast Asian nation, the Indian company's finance director said Wednesday.

"The total investment in the projects is likely to be $3.9 billion," B.L. Bagra told Dow Jones Newswires on the sidelines of an industry conference. "We hope to start construction within 15 months."

The alumina smelter will have a capacity of 500,000 tons and the power plant will have a generation capacity of 1,200 megawatts, Bagra said.
