Yichang Three Gorges Quantong Company Commissions Galvanized Plate Project

SHANGHAI, May 31 -- The 1st phase of Yichang Three Gorges Quantong Company's coated and galvanized plate project cooperated with China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group has been put into operation, with  celebrations held in Yichang City, Hubei Province on May 18th.  Li Hongzhong, Governor of Hubei Province, attended the celebrations, as did Yang Xiaojian, Deputy Secretary of China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group. 

The 1st phase of coated and galvanized plate project contains five continuous rolling mills with 8 rolls each, 16 galvanizing lines, and eight color coating production lines with an annual capacity of 3.2 million mt.  The China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group provided technical support for construction of the project, in addition to supplying equipment hardware and software for some production lines.  A total of nine projects were developed with cooperation from the two organizations, and with contracts totaling over RMB 300 million.  Once the project is commissioned, it will have a profound impact on China’s ultra-thin cold-rolled plate, galvanized plate, and coated plate markets.
