Russia Jan-April Zinc, Copper, Nickel Output Up On Year; Aluminum Down

MOSCOW, May 24 -- Russia's zinc output in January to April increased by 30.4% on the year, the state statistics committee reported Monday.

The committee didn't give production figures, only the percentages for comparison.

Zinc in concentrate output in January to April increased by 3.2% on the year.

Refined copper output in January to April increased by 17.9% on the year, and copper in concentrate output increased by 13.8%.

Lead output increased 74.2% on the year, and lead in concentrate output doubled.

Nickel output increased by 6.4%, and nickel ore output increased by 12.3%.

Primary aluminum output in January to April fell by 2.2% on the year. Bauxites output fell by 8.8%, and alumina output increased by 8.7%.
