Summary

Concerns over the stability of Greece finance and previous significant growth in copper prices both generated market concerns that base metals prices may experience reductions. LME zinc prices closed at USD 2,380/mt on April 8th, below 5-day moving average. LME zinc prices fell to as low as USD 2,350/mt, getting support at 10-day moving average. However, the marked declines in trading volumes indicate the wait-and-see sentiment was dominating the market, and LME zinc prices will continue to fluctuate with the absence of clear market direction. SHFE 1007 zinc contract prices are expected to move in the RMB 19,000-19,500/mt range.
