Mon Apr 5, 2010 5:23pm EDTSANTIAGO, April 5 (Reuters) - Chile's copper output will rise around 3 percent in 2010 from last year's levels and the government expects strong demand from China to underpin the market, Mining Minister Laurence Golborne said on Monday.
Golborne also told Reuters in an interview ahead of the CRU/Cesco copper conference in Santiago that the government would respect contracts with mining companies if it ultimately raises royalties to help fund reconstruction after the massive Feb. 27 earthquake.
