Nanshan Group Receives Orders for 500 mt Profiles for Rail Vehicles

SHANGHAI, Mar. 29 -- Nanshan Group Aluminum Main Workshop recently received orders from China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Limited (CSR) and China CNR Corporation Limited (CNR) for over 500 mt of aluminum profiles to be used for rail vehicles.

China's railway construction has been developing rapidly for the past several years.  Total national investment in railway construction from 2004 to 2020 is expected to exceed RMB 5 trillion, and the length of rail lines expected to exceed 120,000 km.  Between 2010 and 2012, China will put into operation 13,000 km of passenger-dedicated lines and inter-city railways, capable of speeds of 300-350 km/h and 200-250 km/h, respectively.  These estimates indicate strong development potential for production of profiles used for rail vehicles, and should also provide opportunities for industrial profile enterprises.
