






WEIFANG, Mar. 11 -- Weifang Zhongyun Machinery Co Ltd, a plastic pipe equipment manufacturer based in Weifang, Shandong Province, yesterday signed a EUR 40-million contract with a German firm and a Swiss firm to produce wind-driven generators for a project that will cost around RMB 1.6 billion in total.
In recent days, a waste-to-energy project and two wind-power projects have received approval from the Development and Reform Commission of Shandong Province. The three clean-energy projects will be capable of generating about 220 million kWh of electricity, which will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 73,000 tons.
The two wind-power projects will be both located in Weifang and will have an annual generating capacity of 180-million kWh in total.
One of the two projects will be located in the city's Liuwangzhuang and will cost RMB 375 million. It is designed to have an installed capacity of 38,250 kW and will kick off construction in the middle of March.
The other project will be located in Weifang Binhai Economic Development Area and will cost RMB 600 million.
