Kunpeng Copper Company Accelerates Work at 100kt/yr Copper Anode Project

SHANGHAI, Mar. 8 (SMM) -- Kunpeng Copper Company, owned by Liangshan Mining has completed installation of the majority of equipment for its 100kt/yr copper anode project, and equipment installation at the sulfuric acid plant is in its final stage, with the project’s commission expected in late March.

According to CBI statistics, crude copper smelting capacity scheduled to come online in China during 2010 will reach up to 540 kt, and reveals an expansion rate higher than 2008 levels.
