NEW YORK, Mar. 1 -- The benchmark contract for zinc treatment charges, or fees miners pay smelters to turn their ore concentrate into refined metal, was said to have been set before the start of this year's International Zinc Association's (IZA) conference.

Xstrata (XTA.L: Quote) and Teck Resources Ltd (TCKb.TO: Quote) were said to have set terms at just above $270 per tonne based on a $2,500 a tonne London Metal Exchange zinc price.
