CHALCO Puts Nanhai Aluminum Alloy Project into Operation

SHANGHAI, Feb. 12 -- CHALCO has put the first phase of its Nanhai aluiminum alloy project into operation on February 1st. This project began construction in April 2008, with a total investment in the first phase of the project reaching RMB 380, and with the production capacity of 110 kt/yr of aluminum alloy cast rod. CHALCO said the second phase of this project with the capacity of no less than 100 kt/yr aluminum alloy will begin construction in the coming one or two years.

This project will produce aluminum extrusion rod with scrap aluminum as raw materials, with the production equipments mainly the most advanced environmental protection equipments at home and abroad. Meanwhile, the desulfurization dust removal system with the investment of RMB 12 million was also used in this project, which can ensure the gas after treatment to meet the national and local discharge standards.
