






SYDNEY, Jan. 27 -- CBH Resources Ltd. (CBH.AU) said Wednesday it produced 14,228 metric tons of zinc in concentrate and 5,951 tons of lead in the fourth quarter 2009, exceeding forecasts by 13% and 8% respectively.
Mill throughput at the Endeavor mine during the first half of the 2009-10 financial year ending June 30 totaled 231,295 tons, 10% above forecast.
Production ramp-up to 850,000 tons mill throughput a year is ahead of schedule and due to start in mid-2010, CBH said in a statement.
The company has applied to recommence mining at the Rasp zinc-lead mine in New South Wales during the fourth quarter, and said a decision by the state government was imminent. If favorable, mining operations are set to get underway by the middle of the year.
CBH this month announced a memorandum of understanding with its largest shareholder, Japan's Toho Zinc, for a joint venture to mine the Rasp operation.
At the end of last year, CBH had a cash balance of A$47.2 million.
