HONG KONG, Jan. 19 -- Shares of Aluminum Corp of China Ltd (Chalco) (2600.HK: Quote) were down 1.96 percent on Tuesday after it warned it would post a loss for 2009.

The shares opened at HK$9.48.

Chalco, the world's most valuable aluminium maker, warned on Monday that it expected to post a net loss for 2009 as substantial losses in the first half weighed on earnings for the year, despite improved market conditions in the second half of the year.
