Southern Copper Peru Work Stopped by Power Outage

LIMA, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Southern said on Thursday it was forced to stop its mining and refining operations in southern Peru because of an area power outage.
 
Fernando Mejia, director of operations at Southern Copper, told Reuters work was halted at the company's Toquepala and Cuajone mines as well as at its Ilo smelter.
