2009 August Cu Apparent Consumption Data Analysis

SHANGHAI, Sep. 25 (SMM) --
Copper Semis:
China's apparent consumption of copper semis was 885.4kt during August, up 31.60% YoY, while YTD apparent consumption was 6.37 million mt, up 15.08% YoY. In addition to the positive impact from government investment policies on demand from copper processing enterprises, economic recovery in Europe and the US is also driving up output of copper semis. China’s apparent consumption of copper semis is expected to grow with the onset of the seasonal peak demand period in September.
