SHANGHAI, Sep. 25 (SMM) --
Refined Copper:
China's imports of refined copper were 219.7kt during August, up 152.08% YoY, with YTD imports of 2.29 million mt, up 166.17% YoY. However, refined copper imports in August fell 24.81% compared to July, despite of significant YoY growth, and an unfavorable SHFE/LME copper price ratio was blamed for lower imports. The price ratio is expected to remain low given weak consumption in domestic spot markets, so imports of refined copper during September are expected to fall lower than August levels.
