SHANGHAI, Apr. 23 (SMM) --
Refined Copper:
Refined copper imports were 296.8kt during March, up 137.63% YoY.  Cumulative imports during  1Q were 748.3kt, up 92.30% YoY. Copper imports hit a record high during March due mainly to the tightness of domestic scrap copper supply, as well as the approaching peak season for copper consumption and the national copper reserve program. Refined copper imports will remain high during April due to orders received by imported copper suppliers.
