Lead Concentrates:
According to the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA), China's output of lead concentrate was 125kt during August, almost flat with July levels. YTD output was 780kt, up 5.1% YoY, with output from Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, and Yunnan provinces accounting for approximately 46% of total output in August.
Refined Lead:
According to CNIA, China's output of refined lead was 353kt during August, up 7.5% MoM. The growth rate of 5.8% in secondary lead output on a monthly basis, as well as increased output from Anhui and Hunan provinces, kept lead prices remained stable above RMB 13,500/mt from late July to August, creating incentives for lead smelters to increase production.
