SHANGHAI, May. 22 (SMM) --
Lead Concentrates:
According to China Nonferrous Metal Association (CNIA), China's output of lead concentrate was 86.2kt during April, up 14% MoM; YTD cumulative output was 265.9kt, down 9% YoY, signaling low operating rates at domestic mine operators.
Refined Lead:
According to statistics from China's Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA), China's output of primary lead was 210 kt in April, down 1.7% MoM, with decreases occurring mainly in Henan, Hunan, and Guangdong provinces. Major smelters in these three regions shut down units for maintenance, negatively affecting output. Guangxi and Ningxia provinces reported increases in output on a monthly basis, as a portion of idled capacity was restarted after lead prices rebounded above RMB 12,000/mt.
