2009 July Ni Output Data Analysis

SHANGHAI, Aug. 21 (SMM) --
Nickel Ore:
According to the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA), China's output of nickel concentrate was 4,862mt during July, down 38.51% MoM. YTD output was 50,884mt, up 25.95% YoY. Jinchuan Group increased imports of nickel concentrate due to its limited output during July, contributing to the MoM decline.
Refined Nickel:
According to CNIA, China's output of refined nickel was 13,774mt during July, with YTD output of 90,954mt, up 18.79% YoY. Jinchuan Group was still operating at full capacity, so the growth in output was mainly attributed to the restarting of idled capacity at other facilities.
