2009 May Zn Output Data Analysis
SHANGHAI, June 26 (SMM) --
Zinc Concentrate:
China's output of zinc concentrate has experienced significant growth recently. Domestic output of zinc concentrate was 318.8kt during May, up 58.9% MoM. YTD output was 1.45 million mt, down 5.2% YoY, but down at a much slower pace compared to April's decline of 23.3%. Zinc concentrate production has been resuming gradually, and is line with CBI's survey. Zinc concentrate output in June is expected to be higher than May levels.
Refined Zinc:
China's output of refined zinc was 335.5kt during May, up 600mt compared to April. Zinc ingot production remains stable, and domestic output of zinc ingot is expected to exceed 300kt during June.
