Kolaka Nickel is advancing a 20 MWp solar project paired with a 20 MW/30 MWh battery system in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, to supply self-generated clean electricity to an operating nickel-industry site. The project secured non-recourse financing from three banks in January 2026 and has now moved into equipment supply and implementation, with the module order in place. The development embeds solar-plus-storage directly into an energy-intensive industrial load, highlighting growing use of project finance to reduce power costs and emissions intensity across Southeast Asian mining operations.

Germany's net solar generation reached 90.2 TWh by September 27, already exceeding the roughly 90.0 TWh produced during all of 2025 and setting a new annual record before the fourth quarter. The increase reflects both continued capacity additions and favourable sunshine conditions, while the concentration of output around midday further raises the need for grid flexibility, storage and demand response. The milestone shows that Germany's solar supply base is still expanding rapidly, shifting more market attention toward curtailment, negative-price exposure and storage revenue mechanisms.

German vertical bifacial PV specialist Next2Sun says it received more than €5 million in share subscriptions and funding offers by the end of last weekend, meeting the interim threshold it set to avoid an insolvency filing. The company cautioned that some indications still need to be firmed up and plans to confirm by Friday whether sufficient binding commitments can be accepted to complete the financing. The result therefore represents a critical liquidity milestone, but it does not yet mean that all funds have been received or that the company's going-concern risk has been fully removed.
