Indian PV manufacturer Waaree Energies is investing $37 million to expand its Arizona module facility from 1 GW to 1.6 GW while consolidating its Gujarat operations. The move lifts Waaree's total US capacity to 4.8 GW — 3.2 GW in Texas plus 1.6 GW in Arizona — with the upgrade introducing advanced high-efficiency technology including G12R monocrystalline TOPCon bifacial cells. The company will relocate equipment from two Gujarat plants totaling about 2.1 GW to its Chikhli site by December 31, 2026, to optimize costs. Waaree's module output rose 41.5% year on year to 3.24 GW in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, and it holds 25.8 GW of module and 5.4 GW of cell capacity.

Denmark installed 336.7 MW of solar in the first half of 2026, an 11% increase year on year, bringing cumulative capacity to 5.4 GW, according to figures from the Danish solar association Dansk Solcelleforening. Growth is driven by larger-scale projects, with 271 MW of utility-scale installations above 1 MW switched on in H1, up from 208 MW a year earlier. Rooftop solar continues to decline, with residential deployments falling from 36.3 MW to 28.2 MW and C&I from 55.2 MW to 37.2 MW. The Danish Parliament is preparing new regulations to make PV installation on public buildings simpler and more attractive, expected to enter into force on September 14.

A consortium led by Canadian renewable energy developer JCM Power has been selected to develop a 30 MW solar project in Mozambique, marking the company's entry into the country. JCM Power, which develops projects across Asia and Africa, is further expanding its renewable energy footprint in Africa. Emerging African markets such as Mozambique are becoming new growth drivers for global solar demand. Separately, Hawke's Bay Airport in New Zealand opened an expression-of-interest process on August 28 for a 12-17 MWp solar farm project.
