SMM #1 Refined Nickel Price Drops to 127,250 Yuan/mt, Spot Premiums for Jinchuan Increase

On August 31, the SMM #1 refined nickel average price was 127,250 yuan/mt, down 1,350 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. In spot premiums, Jinchuan #1 refined nickel averaged 1,500 yuan/mt, up 100 yuan/mt from the previous trading day; premiums for mainstream domestic electrodeposited nickel brands ranged from -200 to 400 yuan/mt.

[SMM Nickel Intermediate Product Daily Review] On August 31, MHP and high-grade nickel matte prices declined.

As of now, the FOB price of Indonesian MHP nickel is $14,993/mt Ni, and the FOB price of Indonesian MHP cobalt is $35,915/mt Co. The MHP payables (against the SMM battery-grade nickel sulphate index) are 85-86, and the MHP cobalt element payable indicator (against SMM refined cobalt (Rotterdam warehouse)) is 70. The FOB price of Indonesian high-grade nickel matte is $15,626/mt Ni.

August Manufacturing PMI Rises to 49.8%, Showing Business Rebound Across Enterprise Sizes

In August, the manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was 49.8%, up 0.6 percentage point from the previous month, indicating a rebound in business conditions. By enterprise size, the large enterprise PMI was 50.6% (up 1.1 percentage points from the previous month, above the threshold); the medium-sized enterprise PMI was 49.4% (down 0.3 percentage point from the previous month, below the threshold); and the small enterprise PMI was 47.9% (up 0.5 percentage point from the previous month, below the threshold).
