August Manufacturing PMI Rises to 49.8%, Showing Business Rebound Across Enterprise Sizes

In August, the manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was 49.8%, up 0.6 percentage point from the previous month, indicating a rebound in business conditions. By enterprise size, the large enterprise PMI was 50.6% (up 1.1 percentage points from the previous month, above the threshold); the medium-sized enterprise PMI was 49.4% (down 0.3 percentage point from the previous month, below the threshold); and the small enterprise PMI was 47.9% (up 0.5 percentage point from the previous month, below the threshold).
