Published: Aug 28, 2026 00:55 (GMT+8)
Construction has begun on the Gajah Mungkur floating solar power project in Wonogiri, Central Java, with commercial operations targeted for the end of 2027. The project will have a capacity of 134 MWp (100 MWac) and is expected to generate around 218 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to roughly 37% of Wonogiri Regency’s annual electricity demand. Investment is estimated at around Rp1.6 trillion, while electricity generated by the project will be transmitted through a 150-kV network to the Nguntoronadi substation before entering the Java-Madura-Bali interconnected grid. The project is being developed by PT Hijaunesia GCL Gajah Mungkur, a joint venture involving Jasa Tirta Energi, PLN Indonesia Power Renewables and GCL Tirta Surya Investindo, and forms part of Indonesia’s broader 100-GWp solar development program.
