On August 17, 2026, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission published Notice No. 2026/108, making a partial final countervailing determination on Light Gauge Steel Stud and Track imported from China. It ruled that the exporter Wenan Kaize Building Material Co., Ltd had a de minimis subsidy during the investigation period, thus terminating the countervailing investigation against it. Meanwhile, the Commission will continue the anti-dumping investigation against all Chinese exporters and the countervailing investigation against non-cooperating exporters and other exporters.
On June 30, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2025/053, initiating anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on Light Gauge Steel Stud and Track imported from China, following an application filed by Australian domestic enterprise Rondo Building Services Pty Ltd. The dumping and subsidy investigation period was from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and the injury investigation period started from April 1, 2021. On May 25, 2026, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2026/072, making an affirmative preliminary anti-dumping determination on Light Gauge Steel Stud and Track from China, deciding to impose provisional anti-dumping duties in the form of security deposits effective from May 26, 2026. The duty rate for exporter Wenan Kaize Building Material Co., Ltd and all other Chinese exporters was 37.8%. At the same time, given that the existing evidence was not enough to make an affirmative preliminary countervailing determination, it decided to continue the investigation. The Australian HS codes for the subject products are 7216.61.00.57, 7216.69.00.58, 7308.90.00.52, 7308.90.00.53, 7308.90.00.55, and 7308.90.00.56.
