[SMM PV News] Shandong University Published in Nature, Providing New Solution for Global PV Challenges

Recently, a research team led by Professor Li Jiashuo from the Institute of Blue-Green Development at Shandong University, together with research teams from several universities in China and overseas, including the University of Adelaide, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the University of Hong Kong, published a research paper in Nature, focusing on the challenge of circular governance of the global PV industry, built a comprehensive assessment framework for recycling retired PV modules globally, providing scientific basis for building a global PV waste recycling governance system that balances equity and efficiency.

Mid-week, they plunged sharply, dragged down by a global bond sell-off and a surge in US Treasury yield; subsequently, the Treasury’s expanded buybacks triggered a sharp drop in the US dollar, and silver prices rebounded strongly to regain lost ground. Spot market discounts continued to widen, with insufficient downstream buying interest, forming a divergent pattern of “rising prices, widening discounts.” Inventory buildup totaled 53 mt, while ETF holdings edged down. In the short term, prices were expected to see wild swings; watch the US Treasury yield trend.

[SMM PV News Flash] Huaneng Jiangsu 500MW PV Project Registered!
On August 18, the Huaneng Guanyun 500 MW offshore PV project (G1-2 area) successfully obtained its record filing. It is understood that the project site is based on the existing sea area of Huaneng Guanyun offshore wind power, with a planned installed capacity of 500 MW and a proposed sea area of about 700 hectares. After the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected to output an average of 700 million kWh of clean electricity annually.
