Aluminum Alloy Imports Down 14.5% YoY, Exports Up 135.1% in July 2026

According to customs data, imports of unwrought aluminum alloy in July 2026 were 59,900 mt, down 14.5% YoY and up 8.7% MoM; cumulative imports from January to July totaled 493,400 mt, down 19.4% YoY. On the export side, exports of unwrought aluminum alloy in July were 58,600 mt, up 135.1% YoY and down 12.8% MoM; cumulative exports from January to July reached 297,100 mt, up 104.6% YoY.

[SMM Aluminum Alloy Flash] This week, China’s social inventory of cast aluminum alloy ingots recorded 28,100 mt, up 2,500 mt WoW, marking the second consecutive week of inventory buildup, with the buildup magnitude further widening from last week. Currently in the demand off-season, downstream purchase willingness is low, and market shipment pace is slow. Meanwhile, periodic increases in spot-futures arbitrage purchases provided some replenishment to inventory.
