In futures: The Aluminum Alloy 2610 contract opened at 23,060 yuan/mt today, briefly shot up to 23,075 yuan/mt before the upward momentum quickly faded, and prices pulled back to consolidate, hitting an intraday low of 22,865 yuan/mt. It closed at 22,970 yuan/mt at midday, down 0.28%. On the 4-hour chart, it continued to consolidate at lows, with the rebound under significant pressure. The moving averages still formed overhead resistance, and indicators were running in low ranges. The tug-of-war between longs and shorts became more subdued, and the short-term trend is expected to consolidate on a subdued note.
In spot: ADC12 market quotes remained stable overall today. The SMM ADC12 price held steady from the previous day at 23,900 yuan/mt. Fluctuations in futures and the cost side of aluminum scrap were limited, while the decline in aluminum prices narrowed. Support from the cost side for spot prices remained, leaving insufficient downward momentum for further adjustments. However, end-use demand was still weak, and downstream purchases were mainly based on rigid needs. Overall market transactions lacked significant improvement, so enterprises generally adopted a wait-and-see stance with stable prices. In the short term, ADC12 prices are expected to continue consolidating. Subsequent attention should be paid to aluminum price movements and changes on the demand side.
