[Energy Storage: Hebei Cangzhou 100MW/400MWh Hybrid Energy Storage EPC Tender Launched]

Published: Aug 6, 2026 14:59
On August 5, the EPC tender for the Renqiu Zhihong 100MW/400MWh new technology route lithium iron phosphate + sodium-ion independent energy storage pilot project in Cangzhou, Hebei Province, was launched. The project has a construction scale of 100MW/400MWh, adopting a new technology route that mixes lithium iron phosphate and sodium-ion batteries, with a supporting new 220kV booster station. The total investment is 409.5944 million yuan. The project covers approximately 50 mu of land, constructing an independent energy storage system with a new technology route of 100MW/400MWh lithium iron phosphate + sodium batteries, specifically comprising 30MW/120MWh high-capacity lithium iron phosphate, 60MW/240MWh long-life lithium iron phosphate, and 10MW/40MWh sodium-ion batteries. The energy storage batteries will utilize a hybrid technology of 90% capacity lithium iron phosphate batteries and 10% capacity sodium-ion batteries.

[SMM Analysis] US Imposes Emergency Restrictions on Lithium Battery Black Mass Exports, Locking in Critical Recycling Raw Materials with Regulations
Against the backdrop of the US accelerating the build-out of its domestic battery supply chain while facing persistent reliance on foreign sources for critical minerals, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the US Department of Commerce issued an interim final rule on August 5, 2026, imposing export controls on certain recycled battery materials. The most impactful measure is the temporary export restriction on black mass, an intermediate material from lithium battery recycling. Rather than a complete cutoff of lithium battery-related material exports, this move precisely targets recycled stage products rich in lithium, cobalt, and nickel, aiming to intercept at the source the rapidly growing domestic pool of retired battery resources.

China's First Sulphide All-Solid-State Real-Vehicle Road Test Completed, 30 Gwh-Class Projects Intensively Implemented [SMM Solid-State Battery Weekly Analysis]
[SMM Solid-State Battery Weekly Analysis: China’s First Sulphide All-Solid-State Real-Vehicle Road Test Completed and 30 Gwh-Level Projects Intensively Rolled Out] This week (July 31 – August 6, 2026), the solid-state battery industry saw a triple resonance of technology verification, capacity implementation, and capital influx. Zhongke Yuanben completed China’s first sulphide all-solid-state battery real-vehicle road test, demonstrating full-stack technology integration capability. Guoci Materials built a sulphide electrolyte mass production line; Ronbay Technology’s demand for cathode materials is nearing the 100-mt level. Tuoyi Guneng’s 6 billion yuan, 30 Gwh project settled in Inner Mongolia, while WELION New Energy initiated a Pre-IPO fundraising at a valuation of 20 billion yuan. Outside China, Solid Power advanced its continuous electrolyte production line, and Factorial, together with SK On, explored leveraging existing lithium-ion production lines to advance the industrialisation of solid-state batteries. 2026, a critical window for industrialisation breakthroughs, is shifting from “single-point breakthroughs” to “systematic advancement.”

[Solid-State Battery: Sinocera Completes Construction of Automated Production Line for Sulphide Solid-State Electrolytes, Initial Mass Production Capacity Established]
[Solid-State Battery: Sinocera Materials Constructs Automated Production Line for Sulfide Solid Electrolyte, Initial Mass Production Capability Established] On August 5, 2026, Sinocera Materials stated at an analyst meeting that as the industrialisation of all-solid-state batteries advances, sulfide solid electrolytes, due to advantages such as high ionic conductivity, have become a core critical material. The company has completed the construction of an automated production line for sulfide solid electrolyte, with initial mass production capacity established, and product quality has been highly recognized by clients. The company is closely supporting the industrialisation process of key downstream clients, and will subsequently plan the expansion pace reasonably based on changes in market demand and the industrialisation progress of downstream clients, collaboratively promoting the commercial implementation of all-solid-state batteries. This marks an important period for China's sulfide solid electrolyte sector transitioning from “laboratory samples” to “production line bulk supply,” filling a critical jigsaw piece for large-scale mass production in the upstream key material segment of the all-solid-state battery industry chain.
