CGN Yangjiang Project Completes Hoisting, 25 Goldwind 16.2MW Turbines to Power Greater Bay Area

[SMM Rare Earth End-user Briefing] Recently, the CGN Yangjiang Fanshi Section 2-2 Project completed full-site hoisting, and 25 Goldwind Science&Technology GWH266-16.2MW offshore wind turbines achieved batch application. After grid connection, the project is expected to generate about 1.41 billion kWh of electricity annually, consistently supplying clean power to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, marking the large-scale verification of 16 MW class turbines in complex deep-sea environments. This turbine has a rotor diameter of 266 meters, with an approximately 11% increase in swept area compared to the previous generation product and an approximate 6% increase in annual power generation at the same site. Currently, Goldwind Science&Technology has cumulatively grid-connected over 45 offshore wind turbines of 16 MW and above, with a total capacity of nearly 750,000 kW. As China plans to add about 100 million kW of offshore wind construction scale during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, large-capacity turbines with batch delivery capability will further promote deep-sea wind power development.
