[SMM Steel] Nucor Leads US HRC Spot Price Hikes; California Offers Hit 1,200 USD/st Mark

[US] Nucor announced an increase in its hot-rolled coil spot prices yesterday by 10 USD/short ton (st) to 1,145 USD/st. Notably, prices at its California Steel Industries (CSI) mill saw an even steeper hike, rising by an additional 15 USD/st to reach 1,200 USD/st. On the supply side, although Nucor officially stated that its lead times remain stable at 3 to 5 weeks, actual market feedback indicates that overall delivery times have extended significantly, reaching up to 8 weeks.

MMi Daily Iron Ore Report (August 20)

Iron ore futures traded weak today. The DCE most-active contract I2701 settled at RMB 707/mt, down 1.19% from the previous trading day. Spot prices at Qingdao Port fell RMB 4-5/mt.
