[SMM Flash News] Philippines Energises First Phase of 99-MWp Tantangan Solar Project
The Philippines has energised the first phase of the Tantangan Solar Power Project in Sultan Kudarat, bringing 74.5 MWp of solar capacity online, according to the Department of Energy. The project is expected to supply clean electricity to around 68,000 households and is scheduled for full completion by October 2026. Once fully operational, the facility will have a total installed capacity of 99 MWp, supported by a 4-MW/16-MWh battery energy storage system to improve grid reliability and shift excess solar power to peak demand periods.
