SMM, July 22,
According to customs data, China's aluminum extrusion exports (HS codes 76041010, 76041090, 76042100, 76042910, 76042990) in June 2026 reached 92,000 mt, up 6.0% MoM and up 29.7% YoY. This marked the third consecutive month of MoM rebound after hitting a year low of 48,000 mt in March 2026, and the June volume set a new monthly record since 2025. Cumulative exports in January-June totaled 447,000 mt, up 9.0% YoY, significantly higher than in H1 2025, with exports maintaining a high-boom state.

By export origin, in June, Guangdong exported 40,000 mt, accounting for 43.4% of total exports, up 11.7% MoM and up 8.6% YoY; Shandong exported 14,000 mt, accounting for 15.1% of total exports, up 28.1% MoM and up 30.3% YoY; Jiangsu exported 5,000 mt, accounting for 5.6% of total exports, up 32.3% MoM and up 22.4% YoY. Hainan has emerged as a new force in aluminum extrusion exports after customs closure, ranking fifth nationwide with 4,000 mt exported in June. Central and western provinces such as Sichuan and Hunan posted YoY growth rates of 162.3% and 219.8%, respectively, signaling a trend of aluminum extrusion exports spreading inland.

By export markets, in June, aluminum extrusion exports by country exhibited a dual-engine characteristic of “steady growth in traditional markets and accelerated rise in emerging markets.” In June, China’s aluminum extrusion exports to Malaysia reached 7,700 mt, accounting for 8.4% of total exports; to Vietnam 6,900 mt, 7.5%; and to Thailand 4,700 mt, 5.2%. The top 15 countries together exported 53,500 mt, representing 58% of total exports, with moderate market concentration, highlighting the diversified nature of export destinations.
Southeast Asia remained the core destination for China’s aluminum extrusion exports, with exports to ASEAN countries totaling 27,100 mt this month, accounting for 29.5% of total exports. Exports to the five Middle Eastern countries of the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia totaled 2,200 mt, 2.4% of total exports, up 32.2% MoM, as exports to the Middle East continued to recover.
In Africa, exports to South Africa reached 4,300 mt, firmly ranking first in Africa; to Morocco 1,400 mt, up 567.1% YoY, emerging as a new growth pole; and to Senegal 1,100 mt, up 37.4% YoY. Africa became one of the emerging markets for China’s aluminum extrusion exports.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, exports to Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, and Mexico totaled 10,100 mt this month, 10.9% of total exports. Specifically, exports to Colombia were 3,000 mt (3.3% of total), to Peru 2,100 mt (2.3%), to Brazil 1,700 mt (1.9%), and to Mexico 1,400 mt (1.5%). Excluding Mexico, exports to the other four countries all achieved both YoY and MoM growth.

By trade mode, in June, China’s aluminum extrusion exports through Ordinary Trade were approximately 82,200 mt, representing 89.4%, down 0.6% MoM from 90.0% in May; exports through processing trade with imported materials stood at around 6,000 mt, accounting for 6.6%, up 0.9% MoM from 5.7% in May; and exports through processing trade with supplied materials were roughly 3,000 mt, with a share of 3.3%, flat MoM from 3.3% in May.

Overall, aluminum extrusion exports in June hit a new high for the year at 91,900 mt, extending the strong momentum since Q2. Southeast Asia, as a core export region, maintained mild growth, while emerging markets such as Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean saw robust growth. China’s aluminum extrusion processing sector, leveraging an integrated industry chain and cost advantages, continued to take on orders from overseas sectors including infrastructure construction, NEV lightweighting, and PV energy storage, driving sustained volume growth in exports. However, the significant export volume growth in H1 was partly influenced by the widening SHFE/LME price spread. The price spread between Chinese and overseas markets has now been gradually narrowed. As orders on hand are delivered, if profits on new orders decline in the future, it will be difficult to maintain strong momentum. It is expected that aluminum semis exports will cool down and return to the level of the same period last year.
