This week, HRC social inventory stood at 2.7381 million mt, down 21,000 mt vs. the prior week (–0.76% WoW, +41.23% YoY, +45.65% YoY on a lunar calendar basis).

This week, HRC mill inventory stood at 1.0712 million mt, down 25,700 mt vs. the prior week (–2.34% WoW, +3.60% YoY, +5.56% YoY on a lunar calendar basis).

This week, total HRC inventory stood at 3.8093 million mt, down 46,600 mt vs. the prior week (–1.21% WoW, +28.14% YoY, +31.60% YoY on a lunar calendar basis).

The acquired entity now operates as a branch under Christian Dobmann, retaining all staff and existing services including reinforcing steel trading, structural steel bending, and bored pile production. The acquisition strengthens Sülzle's presence in Upper Palatinate, Middle Franconia, and Upper Franconia, and adds a second bored pile production site alongside its existing northern facility in Dessau-Roßlau. The family-run firm operates 20 branches with over 145 years of experience, supplying sustainable reinforcing steel to German construction projects.

[Taiwan's buyers continue importing Chinese cold-rolled steel amid AD case uncertainty]

Taiwan's cold-rolled steel buyers remain active in securing Chinese material as the anti-dumping petition filed by CSC over three months ago still awaits formal investigation. In a parallel case, on February 10, the Ministry of Economic Affairs preliminarily found that imports of non-oriented electrical steel from China and South Korea have caused material injury to the domestic industry, and the case will be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance for dumping investigation. Market participants noted that the prolonged delay in the cold-rolled probe has encouraged importers to stock up on lower-priced Chinese material, with June imports reaching about 40,000 tonnes. Despite Chinese mills raising offers to defend margins amid falling domestic prices, discounts remain available for large orders, sustaining an arbitrage opportunity versus local Taiwanese prices.
