[SMM PV Flash]Advanced manufacturing moves towards "green", and Canadian Solar Inc. helps Lianxun Instruments build a green energy system.

Published: Jul 3, 2026 13:11

Driven by the enterprise’s need to continuously enhance its green manufacturing capabilities and energy utilization efficiency, the 271.32 kW distributed PV project of Suzhou Lianxun Instrument Co., Ltd., constructed by the Canadian Solar Inc. China distributed EPC team, has been officially connected to the grid and is generating electricity. The project is located in the Suzhou High-tech Zone. Canadian Solar Inc. provides a one-stop EPC service covering solution design, engineering construction, power supply procedures, grid connection acceptance, and smart operation and maintenance, creating a safe, efficient, and stable green energy system for the enterprise and continuously supporting its green and low-carbon development.

The project has a total installation area of approximately 2,600 m², with 456 Canadian Solar Inc. high-efficiency N-type modules installed, and a total installed capacity of 271.32 kW. The project adopts a mature and reliable system solution, optimized in combination with the enterprise’s stable daytime electricity consumption characteristics. While enhancing system operation stability, this achieves on-site consumption of PV power and improves overall energy utilization efficiency.

[Solar: Italy adds 483.66MW of PV capacity in June]
Italy added 8,224 new PV systems totaling 483.66MW in June 2026, alongside 4,656 new energy storage installations, according to Terna. In the first half of 2026, Italy added 3.09GW of solar capacity, while additions over the past 12 months reached 6.72GW, up 16.85% year on year. By the end of June, Italy’s cumulative PV capacity reached 46.61GW, accounting for 53.6% of the country’s total renewable energy capacity. On storage, Italy had 943,729 electrochemical systems paired with renewables by the end of June, with total capacity of 11.94GWh and output of 6.00GW. SMM believes Italy’s PV and behind-the-meter storage markets remain on a growth path, with solar continuing to increase its share in the renewable energy mix.

[Solar: Germany adds around 1.28GW of PV capacity in June]
Germany installed around 1.28GW of new PV capacity in June 2026, nearly unchanged from 1.29GW in May and above 1.1GW in June 2025, according to the Federal Network Agency. New PV additions reached 7.39GW in the first half of 2026, slightly below around 8GW in the same period last year. Germany’s cumulative installed solar capacity reached 125.2GW by the end of June. Ground-mounted systems accounted for the largest share of June additions at 572.7MW, while rooftop systems added 493.8MW across nearly 32,400 installations. Plug-in solar devices added another 51.7MW. SMM believes Germany’s monthly PV additions remain elevated, although first-half growth has slowed slightly year on year, with rooftop and ground-mounted connection trends still worth monitoring.

[Solar: Philippines to update grid code to support solar-plus-storage and DERs]
The Philippines’ Energy Regulatory Commission is working to modernize the country’s transmission grid through the 2026 edition of the Philippine Grid Code, aiming to better accommodate variable renewables such as solar and storage technologies including BESS and pumped hydro. The updated code will introduce technical requirements for solar-plus-storage plants and standalone storage systems using grid-forming inverters to improve grid stability and system response, alongside new cybersecurity, planning, reserve and reliability rules. ERC is also proposing reforms to net metering and distributed energy resources, including shortening net-metering interconnection timelines from 20 to 10 working days, removing the 1MW DER cap, allowing multi-site crediting and prioritizing renewable dispatch in off-grid areas. SMM believes these grid and net-metering reforms could accelerate residential, C&I solar and solar-plus-storage deployment as electricity tariffs and solar import demand rise in the Philippines.
