Hongjin New Materials & Chinese Robot Firm Develop High-Strength Aluminum for Robots

[SMM Flash] It is reported that Hongjin New Materials’ Nantong Research Institute, in collaboration with a leading embodied robot enterprise in China, has jointly developed a specialized high-strength, high-toughness aluminum alloy structural part, which has now achieved large-volume production. The aluminum parts have been fully integrated into the partner’s latest-generation flagship embodied robot, helping to advance both lightweighting and structural strength for the robot.

[SMM Analysis] LME Aluminum Price Pulls Back Rapidly Before the Holiday, Then Recovers from Lows: Why Did It Fall Below $3,150/mt?
Since late September, LME aluminum prices ended their previous trend of fluctuating at highs and underwent a notable pullback around China's National Day holiday. The LME spot aluminum settlement price fell from $3,248.5/mt on September 28 to $3,204/mt on September 30, with the decline accelerating further in October. It dropped $84/mt in a single day on October 1 to $3,120/mt, and fell further to $3,109.5/mt on October 2. As of October 5, the LME spot aluminum settlement price had declined to $3,107/mt, a cumulative drop of $141.5/mt from September 28, or about 4.36%. Compared with the previous staged high of around $3,350/mt, the cumulative pullback exceeded $240/mt, a decline of about 7%. On October 6, the LME spot aluminum settlement price rebounded slightly to $3,134.5/mt, up $27.5/mt from the previous trading day, but remained significantly below the earlier high.
