【SMM Aluminum Flash News】Hainan Conch New Materials to Launch 50,000 sqm Annual Capacity Aluminum Alloy Project in June

The first phase of Hainan Conch New Materials' aluminum alloy door and window project, with an annual production capacity of 50,000 square meters, is scheduled to commence operation at the end of June. Hainan Conch New Materials is adopting a construction model that simultaneously advances the first and second phases of the plant. The first phase focuses on the production of high-end aluminum alloy doors and windows, rapidly establishing production capacity. The second phase will gradually extend the industrial chain, introducing supporting products such as flooring and customized furniture, building a diversified green building materials product cluster. Currently, the main construction of the plant is basically complete, and the project has entered the stages of interior decoration, exterior repairs, and the installation of first-phase equipment.

[Ford's July U.S. sales drop over 10% as aluminum shortage constrains F-Series truck output]

Ford sold 169,951 vehicles in the U.S. in July, down more than 10% year-on-year, with the decline driven by tight F-Series pickup availability tied to an aluminium supply disruption, the discontinuation of the Escape crossover, and a planned pullback in low-margin rental fleet sales; the shortage traces back to fires that halted production at supplier Novelis Inc.'s hot mill last autumn, though the facility resumed operations in June, F-Series inventory remained thin at around 45 days' supply by end of July, and F-Series sales themselves fell 6.5% even as Ford said underlying retail demand for trucks and SUVs stayed resilient, with rental fleet deliveries cut 96% to prioritize retail allocation.
