The European Commission has launched an 8-week targeted consultation (28 July–28 September) to review whether the EU Steel Regulation's product list should expand to cover cast iron pipes/hollow sections, unalloyed and alloy wire, stainless steel wire, and unalloyed/alloy forged bars; input from producers, consumers, distributors, importers, and industry groups will feed into a review due by 31 December 2026. The regulation currently sets a duty-free quota of 18.3 million tonnes with a 50% duty on excess volumes, plus a "melted and poured" origin-transparency rule, Ukraine's annual quota under the scheme stands at 1.05 million tonnes.

7월 30일 중국의 철강 수출 가격은 전반적으로 약세였다. 판재류 수출 가격은 전일 대비 2~3달러/톤 하락했으며, 열연코일 거래 가격은 482~486달러/톤을 기록했다. 국내 회의에서는 특별한 호재가 없었고 선물 가격이 급락했으며, 해외 문의는 다소 증가했으나 대체로 관망세가 이어졌다. 가격 인하만으로 대량 거래를 이끌어내지 못해 수출 오퍼는 소폭 하향 조정에 그쳤다. 장인항의 빌릿 수출 오퍼는 450~455달러/톤 FOB로 약보합세를 유지했다. 철강 선물이 시장 예상 지지선을 이탈하면서 트레이더들의 가격 방어 의지가 약화되었고, 해외 바이어들은 주로 하락 매수보다 반등 매수를 선호하는 분위기다. 톈진항의 철근 수출 가격은 거래 기준 1달러/톤 하락한 476~481달러/톤으로, 오퍼가 엇갈렸다. 일부 제철소는 2~3달러/톤 인하했지만 소수의 문의만 있었을 뿐 계약까지 이어지지 않은 반면, 다른 업체들은 가격을 유지하며 보합세를 고수했다.
