[SMM Iron & Steel] US Raw Steel Production Up 3.3% Year-on-Year in Mid-January

According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US domestic raw steel production for the week ending January 17, 2026, reached 1.756 million net tons, representing a 3.3% increase from the same period in 2025. The capacity utilization rate stood at 75.9%, up from 75.7% the previous week. Adjusted year-to-date production through mid-January totaled 4.238 million net tons, indicating a steady recovery in North American industrial demand at the start of the year.
