GAC Leads Batch Delivery of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles, Empowering the Hydrogen Energy Transportation Ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area

On January 10, 2026, GAC Lingcheng held a "Gathering Strength in the Bay Area, Innovating for a Hydrogen Future" batch delivery ceremony for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles at its factory in Conghua, Guangzhou. Leaders from the Guangzhou NDRC, GAC Group, Guangdong Yuntao Hydrogen, and other industry chain partners attended the event, collectively witnessing an important milestone in the commercial promotion of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, injecting new momentum into the green transportation system construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Since completing the share transfer in 2024, GAC Lingcheng has focused on hydrogen fuel cell vehicles as the core direction of its transformation and upgrading, closely following the national "dual carbon" strategy and provincial and city-level hydrogen energy industry deployments, concentrating resources to advance R&D, production, and commercialization. It has currently established a diverse product matrix covering dump trucks, box trucks, refrigerated trucks, and sanitation trucks, suitable for high-frequency urban scenarios such as city construction, logistics, and sanitation. Among these, 32 mt hydrogen-powered sanitation trucks and 4.5 mt hydrogen-powered refrigerated trucks have already been locally operational.

As a core member of Guangzhou's first hydrogen energy industry innovation consortium, GAC Lingcheng plays a leading role in deepening industry chain collaboration. The delivered vehicles integrate advanced fuel cell systems from Guangdong Yuntao Hydrogen, with key models requiring only 10 minutes for a single hydrogen refueling, offering a driving range exceeding 400 kilometers, capable of meeting high-intensity operational demands, demonstrating the advantages of a fully localized "R&D-manufacturing-operation" industry chain loop. In September 2025, the first locally produced 32 mt hydrogen-powered sanitation truck jointly delivered by both parties set a benchmark example for new energy substitution in Guangzhou's sanitation sector.

Zhang Zhiyong, General Manager of GAC Lingcheng, stated that this delivery marks a new starting point, seizing the development opportunities presented by the inclusion of hydrogen in the national "14th Five-Year Plan" strategy, relying on GAC Group's support to deepen technological research and development, launching more market-adapted products, and promoting high-quality development in the hydrogen automotive industry. Director Qu Yong of the Energy Department of the Guangzhou NDRC affirmed the company's achievements, stating that they will continue to optimize the policy environment and improve hydrogen infrastructure, assisting the Greater Bay Area in becoming a national innovation highland for the hydrogen industry.
