Appeal Overdue Leads to Project Halt, UK's Storegga Plans to Sell 70 MW Green Hydrogen Project in Scotland

Published: Jan 30, 2026 15:48

Recently, UK-based low-carbon solutions provider Storegga announced that its plan to build a 70 MW green hydrogen plant in northern Scotland has been officially halted. The primary reason is that the company missed the final deadline to appeal the local government's rejection of the project planning application. It is now reassessing its hydrogen business strategy and seeking to sell the Scottish green hydrogen project to a new owner, marking a major setback in the project's progress.
