Recently, the 1.5 million kW wind and solar power hydrogen production integrated project of CGN (Inner Mongolia) New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. Etuoke Banner Branch successfully passed the preliminary review by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau, marking the project's official entry into a critical stage of preliminary advancement. This move places a significant piece in Etuoke Banner's "15th Five-Year Plan" hydrogen energy industry layout, aiding in the construction of a regional green energy system.
It is reported that the project has a total investment of 7.5 billion yuan and is planned to build an integrated industry chain of "wind and solar power generation - ESS - hydrogen production." It includes 1 million kW of wind power installation, 500,000 kW of PV installation, and a supporting 225,000 kW/900,000 kWh energy storage system, with an annual hydrogen production scale of 49,900 mt. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to generate 3.3 billion kWh of power annually, saving approximately 1 million mt of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 2.76 million mt each year. While achieving significant ecological benefits, it will also bring substantial economic benefits and promote the large-scale implementation of the green hydrogen industry.
As a key project approved in the opening year of Etuoke Banner's "15th Five-Year Plan," this project precisely aligns with the policy requirements for the integrated development of wind and solar power hydrogen production in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It will effectively promote the local consumption of new energy in the high-tech industrial development zone and solve the challenge of green electricity conversion. The implementation of the project will not only drive the quality improvement and expansion of the regional green hydrogen industry but also provide crucial support for the optimization of Etuoke Banner's energy structure and the transition to green and low-carbon development, helping to create a zero-carbon green hydrogen industry ecosystem.
