South Korea to Support 7,800 Hydrogen Vehicles This Year with KRW 576.2 Billion

South Korea’s Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced on the 4th that it has finalized the 2026 Hydrogen Vehicle Subsidy Implementation Guidelines ahead of schedule and will begin full-scale support starting on the 5th to promote the deployment of hydrogen vehicles and refueling infrastructure.

This year, the government plans to support the rollout of 7,820 hydrogen vehicles with KRW 576.2 billion in national funding. The target includes 1,800 hydrogen buses—800 low-floor and 1,000 high-floor models with long driving ranges and short refueling times—6,000 passenger vehicles, and 20 commercial and sanitation vehicles.
