On December 26, Kunhua Technology held the hydrogen energy base commissioning and hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck delivery ceremony at the Tianshan Zhigu High-End Equipment Industrial Park in Yiwu, Hami, Xinjiang. A total of 200 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks were officially delivered, marking a critical step for Hami in building Xinjiang’s first "Hydrogen Energy City" and establishing a complete hydrogen energy industry chain.

Government officials including Zeng Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Hami Municipal Party Committee, and Peng Peng, Secretary of the Yiwu County Party Committee, as well as experts and scholars from institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tongji University, and representatives from related enterprises attended the ceremony. In his speech, Yiwu County Party Committee Secretary Peng Peng stated that leveraging its wind and solar power resources and coal chemical industry foundation, Yiwu County has completed construction of a pure hydrogen plant with a daily output of 25 mt and four hydrogen refueling stations, attracting leading enterprises like Kunhua Technology and forming a hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing cluster, which helped Hami gain inclusion in the national fuel cell vehicle demonstration city cluster. The commissioning of the base and delivery of the heavy-duty trucks signify that Yiwu County’s entire hydrogen energy industry chain—covering production, storage, transportation, and application—has entered the substantive operation stage.

The delivered hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks are equipped with Kunhua Technology’s self-developed second-generation "Kun·Yun 200" large-power fuel cell engine, with a rated power of 215 kW, specifically designed for extreme environments such as high altitude, severe cold, and long slopes. The product underwent over 4,000 hours of endurance testing and field trials through "two winters, two summers, and two high-altitude tests," and is adaptable to Yiwu County’s complex operating conditions, which include an altitude variation exceeding 1,500 meters and a temperature range of 78°C, providing green transport support for "shipping Xinjiang coal to other regions."

Wang Yabo, Chairman of Kunhua Technology, stated that as the first hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing enterprise to establish itself in Hami, the company has spent four years refining its expertise and collaborated with XCMG Automotive to develop high-performance hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, supporting Hami’s transformation from a traditional "coal capital" to a modern "hydrogen port." The commissioning of the hydrogen energy base will enhance local hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing and service capabilities, strengthening Yiwu’s key role in Xinjiang’s hydrogen energy landscape.

As the fleet of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks departed from the ceremony site, these vehicles will inject green momentum into the Silk Road transportation system. In the future, Kunhua Technology will use technological innovation as an engine, deepen strategic cooperation, promote the high-quality development of Xinjiang’s hydrogen energy industry, and contribute to the construction of a "Hydrogen Energy City" across Xinjiang and the transition toward green and low-carbon development.
