During the recent Hainan Offshore Wind Power Industry Chain Conference, CIMC Enric's subsidiary CIMC Green and Low-Carbon Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., China Datang Corporation Hainan Company's subsidiary Datang (Danzhou) Marine Energy Development Co., Ltd., and the Yangpu Economic Development Zone Management Committee of Danzhou City signed a memorandum of cooperation. The three parties focused on the local consumption of green energy in Yangpu, collaborating to build the Danzhou Green Methanol Entire Industry Chain Project, injecting new momentum into the clean energy development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
According to the memorandum, with the support of the Yangpu Management Committee, CIMC Enric and China Datang Hainan will promote a new energy green methanol demonstration project with a designed capacity of 100,000-200,000 mt/year. The three parties will also deepen cooperation in green methanol industrialisation, covering production, certification, trading, bunkering, and other aspects, exploring high-value utilisation of biomass and supply chain construction.
CIMC Enric will leverage its core advantages in biomass gasification, methanol synthesis, and other areas to advance project design, construction, and sales. It was reported that the company commissioned the nation's first 50,000 mt/year bio-methanol project in Zhanjiang, Guangdong this month, and a second-phase 200,000 mt project has been signed. The company has now established a full-chain green methanol solution and the first "production-storage-transportation-application" supply chain ecosystem in South China, possessing the capability for EPC delivery in the hydrogen-ammonia-methanol industry.
As the Hainan regional headquarters of China Datang Corporation, China Datang Hainan will provide solid energy support. After the implementation of this cooperation, CIMC Enric's green methanol footprint will expand to Hainan, leveraging local new energy resources and Free Trade Port policies to enhance its industrial layout in the South China region.
This tripartite cooperation is a concrete measure to implement Hainan's "ecology-first province" strategy. It will help build a new energy industry ecosystem and provide crucial support for Hainan's goal of becoming a clean energy island and advancing the green, low-carbon development of the Free Trade Port.
