On December 8, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation between Rockcheck Group and Tianjin University was held at Rockcheck 5G + Sanzhi Park. This signing took place at a critical period marking the conclusion of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the planning of the "15th Five-Year Plan," signifying that the cooperation between the two parties has moved from consensus to practice, officially entering a systematic and institutionalized new stage. It is not only a practical action to serve the national strategy and support regional development but also a vivid practice of university-enterprise collaboration in exploring the path of Chinese modernization.

I. Core Participants of the Signing Ceremony

Chai Liyuan, President of Tianjin University, and Zhang Ronghua, Chairperson of the Board of Rockcheck Group, attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing. Wang Tianyou, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Tianjin University, and Chai Shuman, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Rockcheck Group, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Zhang Ying, Secretary of the Party Committee of Rockcheck Group and General Manager of Rockcheck Material Group, presided over the ceremony. Responsible persons from relevant departments of Tianjin University, such as the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Architecture, as well as responsible persons from Rockcheck Group's steel, new energy, culture and health sectors and functional departments, jointly participated in the event.

II. Positioning and Core Objectives of the Cooperation

  1. Tianjin University: Adhering to the philosophy of "seeking development through service and support through contribution," the university focuses on major national strategic needs. It has strong capabilities in disciplines such as materials, energy, and manufacturing, possessing national key disciplines and several provincial and ministerial-level key research bases. Over the past five years, its research funding has exceeded 600 million yuan, with more than 630 authorized patents. It has achieved outstanding results in areas such as green energy conversion and new-type energy batteries. The university expects to promote innovation in research paradigms and serve the high-quality coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region through models such as platform co-construction, talent co-training, project co-research, and achievement co-transformation.
  1. Rockcheck Group: With 37 years of entrepreneurship, the group has continuously promoted adjustments in its "Ten Major Structures," achieving cross-border diversified development. It has a strong presence in green steel, hydrogen energy, and other new energy fields, having established an R&D and manufacturing base for hydrogen fuel cell systems with an annual capacity of 2,000 units. It has cumulatively put into operation 700 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The group hopes to use the signing as an opportunity to create an "application field" for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, a "new highland" for technological innovation in the industry, build a new integrated industry-university-research ecosystem, and assist in the transformation and upgrading of traditional enterprises.

III. Eight Cooperation Areas and Core Goals

According to the agreement, the two parties will use the deep integration of science, education, and industry as a link to carry out in-depth collaboration in eight areas:

  • Joint scientific research, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, new energy,
  • rural revitalization and health vacation, culture and sports cooperation,
  • talent cultivation and exchange, international cooperation, strategic decision-making consultation

The core goal of the cooperation is to jointly promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, build new material bases, green steel dream factories, and modern industrial ecological chains that coexist and prosper with the city, achieving a collaborative development model of "joint management of projects, shared scenarios, co-built platforms, and co-trained talent."
